We're looking for a curious, analytical, and forward-thinking HR Data Analyst to help us transform HR and Payroll data into meaningful insights that drive smarter workforce decisions. What You'll Be Doing
You'll partner with HR and business stakeholders to modernise reporting, improve data integrity, and build analytics solutions that genuinely influence decision-making.
Your day-to-day will include:
Analytics, Reporting & Insight Generation
- Developing and maintaining interactive dashboards and reporting tools
- Translating complex data into meaningful business insights
- Identifying trends, patterns, and drivers of workforce performance
- Continuously improving reporting through automation and smarter design
Data Management, Governance & Integrity
- Ensuring HR and Payroll data accuracy, consistency, and governance
- Implementing validation checks, audit processes, and quality frameworks
- Aligning data across HR, Payroll, and related systems
Data Automation & Process Improvement
- Automating recurring reports and workflows
- Reducing manual processes using tools such as Power Query, BI platforms, and AI-assisted solutions
- Improving efficiency and scalability within HR reporting
Workforce Analytics & Planning
- Supporting workforce planning through trend analysis and forecasting
- Assisting with cost analysis, productivity tracking, and scenario modelling
- Providing insights into headcount, overtime, and workforce optimisation
Systems & Data Integration
- Supporting integration between HR, Payroll, and Time & Attendance systems
- Assisting with system enhancements, testing, and data flow improvements
- Improving underlying data structures and reporting capability
Stakeholder Enablement & Data Adoption
- Helping HR and business teams use data more effectively
- Promoting self-service reporting and data-driven decision-making
- Supporting adoption of dashboards and analytics tools
Requirements
What We're Looking For
- Grade 12 (NQF Level 4)
- Advanced MS Excel certification or demonstrable advanced Excel capability
- Diploma or Degree in Human Resources, Data Analytics, Finance, or Information Systems (NQF Level 6) is ideal
- Power BI or Data Analytics certification will score you major brownie points
- 3+ years' experience in data analysis within HR, Payroll, or operational environments
- 2+ years' experience building dashboards and supporting business decision-making
- Experience working across multiple data sources, including HR, Payroll, and Time & Attendance systems
- Exposure to automation, advanced analytics, or AI-enabled tools will be advantageous
- Understanding of HR and Payroll legislation, including BCEA, LRA, UIF, SDA, and Income Tax requirements
