About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and people-centered HR Generalist to join our team. This is a dynamic, hands-on role that supports the full employee lifecycle - from recruiting and onboarding to employee relations and compliance. Responsibilities

Recruiting & Talent Acquisition

  • Manage full-cycle recruiting: job postings, screening, interviewing, and offers
  • Partner with hiring managers to define role requirements and ideal candidate profiles
  • Source candidates through Indeed, referrals, and other channels
  • Coordinate interview scheduling and communicate with candidates throughout the process
  • Conduct background checks, reference checks, and pre-employment screenings
  • Manage onboarding logistics to ensure a smooth new hire experience

FMLA Administration & Leave Management

  • Manage FMLA requests, eligibility determinations, and leave tracking; ensure proper notice and certification procedures are followed
  • Coordinate with health insurance carriers and third-party administrators on leave documentation and benefit continuance
  • Maintain proper documentation and records for all FMLA-related communications and decisions

Short-Term & Long-Term Disability (STD/LTD) Management

  • Process STD and LTD claims; coordinate with insurance carriers on documentation, approval, and benefit payments
  • Monitor benefit duration, waiting periods, and eligibility requirements; communicate status to employees and managers
  • Maintain compliance with disability insurance plan requirements and coordinate return-to-work processes

Workers' Compensation Management

  • Process and track workers' compensation claims from initial report through resolution
  • Perform and document workplace incident investigations; identify root cause and corrective actions
  • Liaise with workers' comp carriers and OSHA as required following recordable incidents
  • Maintain OSHA 300 logs and submit annual reports as required
  • Assist with workplace safety initiatives

Compliance & Recordkeeping

  • Ensure compliance with federal and state labor laws including FMLA, OSHA, and ADA
  • File and process all workers' compensation claims
  • Maintain complete, audit-ready employee records including I-9s and new hire documentation

Training & Development

  • Coordinate and support company training programs and onboarding initiatives
  • Administer performance management tools and ensure employee/manager check-ins are documented
  • Escalate performance concerns as appropriate

HR Policy & Safety Compliance

  • Help enforce, update, and communicate HR policies across the organization
  • Support workplace safety initiatives, incident reporting, and OSHA recordkeeping

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Occupational Safety, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of HR generalist experience (or equivalent combination of HR and safety experience)
  • Experience with HRIS systems required

HR Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of federal and multi-state employment law
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to explain policies clearly
  • Handles sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset; anticipates issues before they escalate

Safety Background Qualifications

  • Experience managing workers' compensation claims and coordinating with carriers
  • Familiarity with OSHA recordkeeping requirements (300, 300A, 301 logs)
