Smart State Inc. is expanding! We’re looking for a Senior HTML/Markup Developer to join our New Jersey‑based Product & R&D team. 📍 Location: Fort Lee, NJ (100% On‑site)

⏰ Work Mode: Full-time (Remote/Hybrid not available)

💰 Compensation: $130,000–$150,000 (based on experience)

The Role 🛠️

As a Senior HTML/Markup Developer, you’ll be responsible for building efficient, fast, and adaptive user interface layouts for our web applications. You’ll collaborate closely with designers and developers to transform high‑fidelity designs into production‑ready markup, ensuring consistent UI/UX quality across browsers and devices. You’ll also contribute ideas and optimizations that improve our existing interfaces and front‑end performance.

What You’ll Do 🚀 • Develop efficient, fast, and adaptive layouts of interfaces for web applications. • Collaborate with developers and web designers to refine and improve product UI/UX. • Implement responsive, cross‑browser‑compatible layouts that align with modern standards. • Use CSS/JS animation to create engaging and performant interactive experiences. • Apply best practices for web application performance optimization on the front end. • Introduce ideas, solutions, and optimizations to existing applications and UI components.

What We’re Looking For 🎯 • 5+ years of professional experience as an HTML coder / markup developer. • Excellent knowledge of HTML and CSS. • Good understanding of UI/UX design principles and cross‑browser layout. • Strong knowledge of CSS/JS animation. • Experience working with CSS pre‑processors such as Sass or Less. • Solid understanding of web application performance optimization. • Hands‑on experience with Figma, Sketch, or Photoshop for working with design assets. • Advanced level of English and strong communication skills.

Nice to Have ⭐ • Understanding of front‑end build tools (e.g., Gulp, Webpack). • Knowledge of HTML email templates and email‑specific constraints. • Experience with CSS frameworks (e.g., Bootstrap, Tailwind, etc.). • Experience working with template engines (Pug, Handlebars, etc.). • Experience with Canvas API, WebGL, ThreeJS, or GSAP for advanced visuals and animations.
