A Mining company in the Northern Cape is looking for a HR Manager.

Role Description

  • Implementation of HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy on site
  • Manage and maintain a highly effective team on site with strong accountability
  • Report on site all HR metrics continuously
  • Support line management regarding Employee relations and advise on best practice
  • Ensure compliance to the recruitment and selection process
  • Management of employee attendance, absenteeism, and habitual sick leave on site
  • Drive Induction and Onboarding initiatives with line management to maximise retention of prospective candidates
  • Ensure legislative compliance on site in line with HQ Compliance department
  • Training and development management: MHSA Compliance training for Mining, Engineering and Safety as well as ad-hoc Developmental Training
  • Oversee workforce planning and staffing and ensure proper Compliance with talent management and succession planning strategies on site
  • HR data management and ensure HRIS are managed continuously
  • Drive Performance Management on site and ensure compliance to SOP
  • Complete HR service delivery to line management on a generalist mining HR function
  • Responsible to coordinate HR communication on site and ensure optimal Employee Engagement
  • Union engagement on site level
  • Client relations regarding HR requirements and initiatives on site
  • Manage Chronic IOD cases alongside HQ and site-specific clinic

Minimum Requirements

PLEASE ONLY APPLY IF YOU HAVE 10 YEARS EXPERIENCE IN MINING SECTOR of Which 5 years was in HR MANAGEMENT

Knowledge / Competencies /Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • PC Proficient including Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of HR systems and management thereof
  • Extensive knowledge of labour law and previous exposure to CCMA practice

Qualifications

  • National Senior Certificate
  • B. Com HRM / B.Soc.Sc Industrial psychology Honours degree Required
  • At least 10 years' HR generalist experience in the Mining Sector
  • At least 5 years' experience in a HR management role in the Mining Sector
