HVAC Project Manager – Commercial & Federal Projects
Position Overview
Blue Jay Construction, LLC is seeking an experienced HVAC Project Manager to oversee commercial and federal mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through project closeout. This role requires a highly organized and driven professional capable of managing schedules, budgets, subcontractors, procurement, field coordination, and client relationships while ensuring successful project execution.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in commercial HVAC construction, excellent leadership abilities, and the ability to manage multiple projects in fast-paced environments. Experience with federal or government projects is highly preferred.
This is an on-site position based in Woodbridge, Virginia, with project travel as required.
Responsibilities
- Manage commercial and federal HVAC projects from award through completion
- Coordinate project schedules, manpower, procurement, logistics, and material deliveries
- Lead communication between clients, general contractors, engineers, subcontractors, and field teams
- Review drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and change orders
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, project specifications, and quality requirements
- Monitor project budgets, costs, and profitability
- Support field operations and assist in resolving project-related issues
- Conduct project meetings and maintain accurate project documentation
- Maintain strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience managing commercial HVAC construction projects
- Experience with federal or government construction projects preferred
- Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems, ductwork, piping, and mechanical coordination
- HVAC certifications, trade school education, technical training, or equivalent industry experience required
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office, project management software, and scheduling platforms
- OSHA certification preferred
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously

Compensations & Benefits
