Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Solution Architect to support the Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) Program – Maximo Implementation and other asset‑based, business‑critical technology solutions related to the Region’s Enterprise Asset Management Strategy.
Reporting to the Enterprise Architecture Team and dedicated to the Enterprise Asset Management Program, the Solutions Architect will oversee solution design, technology development efforts, standards and policy development in furtherance of the overall EAM vision and organizational change management.
The architect will partner with key client stakeholders, technology leadership and project delivery teams to determine which technologies to use and drive the implementation of secure and robust end‑to‑end solutions.
Travel Requirements : Travel between various Region of Peel locations may be required.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice based on in-depth architectural analysis involving analysis of the technical environment, enterprise‑wide and business requirements.
- Provide strategic consulting support and lead the development of solution architectures to support key business objectives.
- Lead preparation of technical plans and, in liaison with the IT Enterprise Applications team, ensure appropriate technical resources are made available.
- Provide expert advice on technical aspects of solution development and integration (including requests for changes, deviations from specifications, etc.), anticipating client needs and ensuring that relevant technical strategies, policies, standards and practices (including security) are applied correctly.
- Plan, create, and design drawings, specifications, IT solution workflows, and network architecture diagrams.
- Develop working functional prototypes and visual communications for client groups and internal stakeholders for review and approval.
- Update platform architecture requirements based on changing technologies/solutions and vendor product knowledge.
- Collaborate and communicate with stakeholders to review objectives and constraints of platform solutions, ensure conformance with enterprise and business architecture, and facilitate technical architecture meetings, decision-making sessions, and problem-solving workshops.
- Act as key liaison negotiating with stakeholders to employ appropriate tools and technologies to benefit the Region and improve end‑to‑end IT solutions.
- Provide specialized guidance and advice to the IT Enterprise Applications delivery teams.
- Provide input into the strategic planning process.
- Assess emerging technology, public sector and market trends.
- Develop reports, technology roadmaps, and recommendations aligned with short, medium, and long‑term transitions.
Qualifications
- Relevant post‑secondary education in Computer Science, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 8 years of related and progressive experience, preferably architecture experience in: Engineering and software architecture design.
- Proven ability to design integration approaches and solutions to achieve robust, secure interoperability.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience working with IBM Maximo Asset Management including asset life cycle: contracts, purchasing, resources, preventive maintenance, security.
- Experience implementing solutions on large projects with strong understanding of: data, security, integration.
- Solid experience with a variety of architectural and asset management technologies/frameworks.

- Public Sector Enterprise Asset Management methodologies and frameworks.
- Agile Project/Program Management.
Nice-to-Have Certifications
- TOGAF Certification or equivalent Enterprise Architecture Certification.
