IBM Planning Analytics Engineer

Overview

We are seeking an IBM Planning Analytics TM1 Engineer and EPM (enterprise performance management), hands‑on experience in Python-based integrations. The ideal candidate will design scalable TM1 solutions, automate reporting workflows, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance planning, forecasting, and data integration capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

TM1 Development & Maintenance

• Design, develop, and maintain TM1 components including:
  • In-memory OLAP databases
  • Cubes
  • Dimensions
  • Rules
  • TurboIntegrator (TI) processes
• Build optimized TM1 models supporting planning, budgeting, and forecasting needs.

Python Integration & Automation

• Develop and support Python-based integrations using:
  • TM1py
  • REST APIs
  • Data pipelines
• Automate TM1 reporting workflows using:
  • GenAI
  • Copilot
  • AI-driven automation tools

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

• Work closely with business, finance, and engineering teams to translate requirements into scalable TM1 and integration solutions.

Performance Optimization & Troubleshooting

• Optimize and troubleshoot:
  • TM1 rules and feeders
  • TI processes
  • SQL queries
  • Python scripts
• Ensure high performance, reliability, and scalability of TM1 applications.

Data Governance & Documentation

• Ensure data integrity, quality, and security across the solution lifecycle.
• Document architecture, data flows, and integration designs.

Agile Delivery

• Participate in Agile ceremonies and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Technical Skills

TM1 / IBM Planning Analytics

• 3–8 years of hands-on experience with TM1
• Strong knowledge of:
  • Experience in EPM (enterprise performance management)
  • Multidimensional data modeling
  • Cube design
  • Dimension hierarchies
  • View/subset management

Python & Integrations

• Proficiency in Python for automation, reporting, and system integration
• Experience with TM1 integrations (data warehouses, cloud platforms)
• Experience building Python-based ETL pipelines

SQL & Data Engineering

• Strong SQL skills including query optimization, data modeling, and performance tuning

AI & Automation Tools

• Experience with GenAI, Copilot, and AI-driven automation for reporting and workflow enhancement

Testing & Quality

• Knowledge of testing frameworks and automated test case generation
