ICT Project Manager

About

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager for ICT Infrastructure and Data Centers (m/f/d) for a long-term large-scale project in the public safety sector.

In this role, you will be responsible for the ICT-related project management of the construction of a new police and security center. The focus is on the planning, coordination, and implementation of ICT infrastructure, data center issues, server rooms, security-related systems, and communication solutions. The responsibilities range from conception and implementation to the successful handover to operations.

We are looking for a candidate with experience in infrastructure and integration projects who is comfortable navigating the interface between ICT, construction, operations.

Responsibilities

• Overall responsibility for ICT project management within the scope of a new construction project in a security-sensitive environment
• Planning, managing, and coordinating the ICT infrastructure across all project phases
• Coordination of data center issues, server rooms, networks, communication systems, and security infrastructures
• Liaison with authorities, planners, service providers, suppliers, and internal departments
• Ensuring the timely, high-quality, and budget-compliant implementation of ICT requirements
• Responsibility for the integration of security-relevant ICT systems and IT security architectures
• Coordination of ICT matters with construction, operations, security, and other technical departments
• Development of decision-making frameworks for project committees and regular reporting to overall project management
• Oversight of commissioning, acceptance testing, and handover of ICT solutions to operations
• Shared responsibility for additional ICT projects within the organization

Experience

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, business informatics, systems engineering, electrical engineering, or a comparable field with additional training in project management
• Several years of experience leading complex ICT infrastructure projects, data center projects, or system integration projects
• In-depth knowledge of ICT infrastructure, networks, communication systems, system integration, and IT security requirements
• Experience with infrastructure projects involving new construction, data centers, server rooms, or mission-critical ICT environments is a plus
• Experience in security-related or public sector environments is a plus
• Confident in working with interdisciplinary project teams, external service providers, suppliers, and government agencies
• Ability to structure ICT requirements and translate them into realistic project planning, coordination, and implementation
• Strong communication skills, assertiveness, and coordination abilities
• A structured, solution-oriented, and resilient work style with a high degree of personal responsibility
• Project management certification (e.g., HERMES) is a plus
• Knowledge of SIA standards is a plus
