About
We are seeking an experienced Information Governance Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in BigID to support a data discovery and remediation program. This role focuses on improving classification accuracy, analyzing sensitive data findings, and converting insights into actionable remediation workflows.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data governance, data classification, and hands-on experience with discovery tools and ticketing systems.
Responsibilities
- Execute and monitor data scans across priority data sources
- Develop and tune classifiers (regex, NER, pattern matching) to improve accuracy and reduce false positives
- Analyze discovery findings (sensitive data, aged data, retention risks)
- Create and manage remediation tickets in Jira (and later ServiceNow)
- Apply consistent tagging, routing, and tracking of findings
- Support development of repeatable workflows from discovery to remediation
- Maintain documentation for processes, workflows, and improvements
Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with BigID (must-have)
- Experience with classifier development/tuning (regex, NER, pattern matching)
- Experience with ticketing tools such as Jira and/or ServiceNow
- Understanding of structured vs. unstructured data
- Familiarity with data governance, privacy, and security concepts
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Basic scripting/querying skills (SQL, Python, APIs)

- Consistent conversion of findings into actionable remediation tickets
- Establishment of scalable, repeatable workflows
