The Role
The Security Solutions Engineer (SSE) is an essential information security expert focused on enhancing the security landscape of customer IT environments. The SSE is tasked with managing the technical aspects of customer systems, ensuring solution uptime, availability, and effective problem resolution. Additionally, the SSE will configure detection logic and foster the growth of security solutions like Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB). Direct engagement with customers is crucial, as each SSE provides vital support and security planning, making them a foundational member of customer security teams. This role often necessitates exploring innovative solutions for complex challenges.
Your Daily Responsibilities
- Serve as a technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for DLP and CASB products, assisting customers and colleagues alike.
- Mentor and guide analysts and junior team members.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts, performing upgrades, patching, and resolving issues in customer environments.
- Collaborate with Program Analysts (PA) and fellow SSEs to develop, configure, and optimize policies/rules within customer systems.
- Ensure system configurations and server settings are optimal to support growing customer environments.
- Escalate complex issues through defined paths to product vendors and internal resources.
- Utilize internal CRM for tracking problems and project development; ensure change requests are accurate.
- Support the team in achieving all customer Service Level Objectives (SLOs).
- Stay informed on industry trends, security news, and best practices.
- Participate in on-call rotations, offering support as needed after hours and on weekends.
- Be flexible with scheduling to meet job requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Bring to the Team
- Proven experience in Information Security or Network Security.
- Knowledge of corporate networking, technical support, and system administration in both Windows and Unix/Linux environments.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.
- 2+ years of solid experience with DLP (e.g., Proofpoint, Symantec, McAfee/Trellix, or Forcepoint) and/or CASB (e.g., Proofpoint, CloudSOC/Elastica, Skyhigh, or NetSkope).
- A passion for crafting innovative solutions to complex issues.
- Effective collaboration skills with team members and customers.
- Creativity and the persistence to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Self-motivated with the ability to juggle multiple tasks concurrently.
- Strong communication skills for conveying complex ideas to diverse audiences.
- Excellent time-management abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience with web proxy or email gateway technologies.
- 2+ years of experience with MSSQL or Oracle Database systems.
- Experience with regular expressions.
- Knowledge of programming/scripting languages, such as Perl, Python, Java, PowerShell, or Bash.
- Vendor certifications in relevant products.
- Industry certifications such as CISSP, Network+, Security+, etc.

In alignment with our values and applicable laws, we provide the following information about compensation to promote transparency and equity. Our salary offers reflect labor costs across various U.S. markets and are adjusted accordingly. Actual offers will depend on individual qualifications and may include variable compensation or equity. We offer a competitive benefits package, including flexible time off, a well-being program with two paid Wellbeing Days and two paid Volunteer Days each year, and a three-week Work from Anywhere option.
Base Pay Ranges:
- SF Bay Area, New York City Metro Area: $92,800.00 - $136,070.00 USD
- California (excludes SF Bay Area), Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Washington DC Metro, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Texas, Washington, Virginia, and Alaska: $75,000.00 - $110,000.00 USD
- All other cities and states outside the listed areas: $68,600.00 - $100,650.00 USD
