Position Overview
United Health Service (UHS) is seeking an Information Security Analyst I to play a vital role in safeguarding the hospital’s information systems and sensitive data. Working under the guidance of senior information security professionals, the ISA I supports the protection of the organization’s infrastructure by assisting with security operations, compliance efforts, incident response activities, and the design and implementation of security controls. This position is critical to maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of hospital systems while helping to identify, mitigate, and respond to evolving cyber threats in a healthcare environment.
The role requires familiarity with information security standards, healthcare regulatory requirements, and foundational cybersecurity principles. The ISA I supports third‑party risk management activities by assisting in the assessment of vendor security controls, documenting findings, and participating in the ongoing monitoring of external partners that access or manage organizational data. Collaboration with IT and business stakeholders, attention to detail in documentation and reporting, and a strong commitment to protecting patient information and organizational assets are essential.
Job Responsibilities
- Monitor, maintain, and optimize enterprise security solutions to ensure effectiveness, reliability, and compliance with hospital security policies
- Conduct routine security checks, vulnerability scans, and compliance audits to identify and mitigate security risks
- Analyze network traffic to detect anomalous behavior, suspicious activity, and potential security threats
- Develop, maintain, and manage security dashboards and reports that present actionable information security metrics
- Assist in the investigation of security incidents and suspected breaches by identifying root causes and recommending remediation actions
- Participate in cyber incident response activities, including containment, eradication, recovery, and post‑incident reporting
- Perform forensic analysis of system logs, alerts, and digital evidence to support incident investigations and documentation
- Deploy, integrate, and configure new security tools and technologies in alignment with organizational security standards
- Support the implementation and maintenance of information security policies, procedures, and controls, including Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans
- Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to conduct risk assessments, vulnerability analyses, and maintain an up‑to‑date risk register
- Monitor external threat intelligence sources to remain informed of emerging cyber threats and vulnerabilities relevant to healthcare environments
- Ensure organizational compliance with state, federal, and healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and HITECH requirements
- Assist in administering and tracking cybersecurity awareness training for employees, contractors, and third‑party vendors
- Produce and maintain clear, accurate documentation including security risk assessments, remediation activities, project updates, and disaster recovery documentation
Position Qualifications
Minimum Required
- High School Diploma or GED with 2–3 years of relevant, progressively responsible experience in a related field.
Preferred
- Associate’s degree in business/healthcare administration or a healthcare/technology‑related field
- Certifications such as CCNA, CEH, CCNP, CCSP, GIAC, CISSP, Security+
