Our client, a rapidly growing enterprise, is seeking a diligent and proactive Information Security Analyst to join their dedicated security team. This role is crucial in safeguarding the organization's digital assets, systems, and data against evolving cyber threats. You will be responsible for monitoring security systems, analyzing potential threats, investigating security incidents, and implementing security controls and best practices. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, familiarity with various security tools and technologies, and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. This position is based in **Makurdi, Benue, NG**, offering a hybrid work arrangement that combines the benefits of in-office collaboration with remote flexibility.

Key Responsibilities: Monitor security infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and SIEM tools, for potential threats and vulnerabilities. Analyze security alerts and logs to identify suspicious activities and potential security breaches. Investigate and respond to security incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions. Assist in the development and implementation of security policies, procedures, and standards. Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses. Recommend and implement security enhancements and controls to protect systems and data. Stay current with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies. Educate end-users on security best practices and awareness training. Participate in security audits and compliance reviews. Develop and maintain security documentation, including incident response plans and security guides. Collaborate with IT teams to ensure security is integrated into system design and implementation. Evaluate and recommend new security technologies and solutions. Support the IT department in maintaining the security posture of the organization. Respond to security-related inquiries and requests from internal users. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Proven experience in an information security or cybersecurity role. Strong understanding of network security principles, protocols, and technologies. Familiarity with SIEM tools, firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint security solutions, and vulnerability scanners. Experience in incident response and digital forensics is a plus. Knowledge of security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, or CIS Controls. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Relevant security certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP are highly desirable. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.
