About the role
Our client, a rapidly growing tech company, is seeking a vigilant and skilled Information Security Analyst to join their dedicated team in Asaba, Delta, NG . This role is crucial in safeguarding the organization's digital assets, networks, and sensitive data from evolving cyber threats. You will be responsible for monitoring security systems, investigating incidents, implementing security controls, and ensuring compliance with industry best practices and regulations, with a specific focus on cloud environments. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, experience with cloud security platforms, and a proactive approach to threat detection and prevention.
Responsibilities: Monitor security alerts and events from various security tools, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, and firewalls. Investigate and respond to security incidents in a timely and effective manner. Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing. Implement and manage security controls and configurations in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP). Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation. Perform regular security audits and reviews to ensure compliance. Assist in the development and delivery of security awareness training for employees. Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and technologies. Collaborate with IT and development teams to integrate security best practices into system design and deployment. Manage security-related hardware and software, ensuring they are properly maintained and updated. Participate in incident response planning and tabletop exercises. Contribute to the continuous improvement of the organization's security posture. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in information security, with a focus on security operations or analysis. Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles, including network security, cryptography, and risk management. Hands-on experience with cloud security platforms (e.g., AWS Security Hub, Azure Security Center, GCP Security Command Center). Familiarity with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions. Knowledge of security frameworks and standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST). Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment. Relevant security certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or CISSP are highly desirable. Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation is a plus.
