Information Security Engineer Enterprise & Automation Focus
Location: New York City, NY (Hybrid: Tues Thurs onsite, Mon & Fri remote)
Salary: $250,000 $500,000 base + bonus + full benefits (fully based on experience)
Must have the following:
- Must come out of a smaller company doing Enterprise Security.
- Broad enterprise InfoSec experience, Linux expertise, Python automation, vulnerability management, threat detection & response, ownership mindset, hands-on impact.
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve company-wide security practices across infrastructure, systems, and workflows
- Lead vulnerability management, threat detection, and incident response efforts end-to-end
- Design and implement automated security solutions using Python and related tools
- Build and improve internal security tooling to proactively identify and mitigate risks
- Secure Linux-based environments across endpoints, servers, and internal systems
- Partner with engineering teams to integrate security into development and operational processes
- Establish and refine security policies, frameworks, and best practices
- Evaluate and deploy modern security tools while optimizing for efficiency and scalability
- Contribute to securing emerging AI/agentic workflows as the environment evolves
- Drive initiatives independently with full ownership from concept to execution
Requirements
- Proven, broad experience across multiple areas of information security (not siloed)
- Background operating in startup or high-growth environments with full-stack security ownership
- Strong Linux fundamentals and hands-on experience in Linux-based environments
- Proficiency in Python with demonstrated experience automating security workflows
- Experience with vulnerability management, threat detection, and incident response
- Track record of building or implementing security processes, tools, or systems from scratch
- Ability to work as a high-impact individual contributor with strong ownership
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with thoughtful, detailed problem-solving approach
- Demonstrated tenure showing meaningful contributions (not short-term or fragmented roles)
- Interest in AI/agentic system security is a plus, not required
