Information Security Engineer - Network Focus

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Information Security Engineer with a strong focus on network security to join their established team in Zaria, Kaduna, NG. This critical role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining robust network security measures to protect sensitive data and critical infrastructure from cyber threats. You will be responsible for the deployment and management of firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDPS), VPNs, and other network security technologies. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our network environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor network traffic for security vulnerabilities and anomalies.
• Perform regular security audits and conduct vulnerability assessments.
• Develop and implement security policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Provide hands‑on security incident response, including investigation of security breaches, containment, eradication, and recovery.
• Stay current with the latest security threats, trends, and technologies, and recommend and implement appropriate countermeasures.
• Collaborate with IT infrastructure teams to integrate security into network design and operations.
• Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks before they impact the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in network security engineering.
• Professional certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA Security, CCNP Security, or CISSP are highly desirable.
• Proven experience with network security hardware and software, including firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco ASA), IDS/IPS, SIEM solutions, and endpoint protection platforms.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, TCP/IP, routing, and switching.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
