As an Information Security Systems Engineering Specialist, you will play a key role in enhancing communication capabilities for the warfighter. We are seeking individuals with expertise in cryptography design, development, and certification compliant with FIPS 140, Risk Management Framework, and NSA certification processes.

Essential Functions

  • Understand and apply NSA and FIPS 140 requirements to cryptographic products.
  • Collaborate with engineers to implement requirements that meet certification standards.
  • Generate design and testing documentation to ensure successful implementation.
  • Act as a proactive individual contributor on RMF, NSA, FIPS, and related security frameworks.
  • Engage with internal and external customers to discuss design, implementation, and certification progress.
  • Adapt to changes and work collaboratively in decision-making processes.
  • Ask clarifying questions and seek guidance on unfamiliar concepts and designs.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; or a Graduate Degree with 2 years of related experience; or a minimum of 8 years in lieu of a degree.
  • Must possess a DoD Secret Clearance.

Preferred Additional Skills

  • Experience of at least 4 years in cryptography design, implementation, or certification.
  • Certification in one of the following: Associate of CISSP, CISSP, CCNA Security, CSA, GICSP, GSEC, Security CE, or SSCP (must be DoD 8140/8570 qualified).
  • Able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Strong technical writing skills and familiarity with communication systems and computer networking concepts.
  • Knowledge of security engineering principles, processes, and basic design patterns.
  • Proficient in working within group settings and able to ask questions to clarify uncertainty.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, creativity, and multitasking skills.
