About the role

Position Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Identity and Access Management (IAM) Architect to serve as a strategic and hands‑on technical leader responsible for designing, implementing, and evolving an enterprise IAM ecosystem. This role partners closely with IAM leadership, enterprise architecture, engineering teams, and business stakeholders to ensure secure, scalable, and modern identity services across a complex organization.

The successful candidate will take ownership of IAM architecture spanning identity governance, account provisioning, single sign‑on, multi‑factor authentication, conditional access, and privileged access management. This role plays a key part in defining standards, guiding technology decisions, and building a forward‑looking IAM roadmap aligned with business objectives and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and contribute to IAM‑related technology initiatives and enterprise projects
  • Collaborate with IAM leadership on roadmap development, solution design, implementation, and operational planning
  • Act as a trusted advisor to architecture, engineering, and business teams on IAM strategy and design
  • Define IAM service offerings, standard configurations, and reference architectures
  • Lead technical design sessions with internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Ensure IAM solutions align with enterprise architecture standards and long‑term technology strategy
  • Evaluate emerging IAM technologies and industry trends, assessing impact on security and user experience
  • Provide recommendations on tools and platforms to meet business and technical objectives
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date architecture, infrastructure, and solution documentation
  • Support governance activities related to IAM architecture and design
  • Assist with operational initiatives and provide senior escalation support for complex IAM issues
  • Identify gaps or deficiencies in current designs and recommend improvements

Qualifications and Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in an enterprise IT environment
  • 3+ years of experience designing architecture solutions within a large organization
  • Demonstrated hands‑on experience with IAM, PAM, and IGA platforms and frameworks
  • Experience working with directory services, cloud identity platforms, and access management technologies
  • Understanding of public, private, and hybrid cloud architectures
  • Strong background in producing high‑quality architecture documentation and solution artifacts
  • Proven ability to design and successfully deliver enterprise solutions, including high‑level designs, roadmaps, strategies, proposals, and statements of work
  • Experience supporting business analysis activities and translating business requirements into technical solutions
  • Broad knowledge of desktop and mobile operating systems including Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android
  • Experience delivering solutions within a global or multi‑region enterprise environment
  • Relevant professional certifications or equivalent practical experience considered an asset
