Senior Infrastructure Architect (On-Prem / Private Cloud)

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure Architect with strong hands-on expertise in architecting and designing IT infrastructure for on-premises environments. The role involves designing, developing, and operating infrastructure solutions aligned with organizational standards and architectural principles.

You will collaborate closely with internal technical teams to design, prototype, develop, and maintain complex enterprise applications. This role also includes performing proof-of-concept (POC) activities to validate non-functional requirements and technology options. Additionally, you will provide mentorship and technical guidance to support smooth transition of solutions into operational teams.

Key Responsibilities

Core Duties

• Design and develop IT infrastructure solutions focusing on compute and storage systems
• Perform system integration, capacity planning, and performance monitoring
• Drive automation across development and operational processes
• Build and validate prototypes to support architectural decisions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Development, Operations, Security, and Compliance
• Apply industry best practices, standards, and architectural principles
• Mentor and guide team members on technical implementations and best practices

Additional Responsibilities

• Communicate team goals effectively through strong verbal and written skills
• Execute end-to-end testing for non-functional requirements
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex design and development challenges
• Research, evaluate, and implement new tools and technologies
• Provide recommendations and insights to leadership based on experience
• Continuously enhance technical expertise in key infrastructure domains

Required Experience

• Minimum 8+ years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure architecture and engineering

Required Skills

• Strong experience with On-Premises / Private Cloud Infrastructure, including:
  • Converged and Hyperconverged Infrastructure
• Expertise in VMware ecosystem, including:
  • NSX
  • vRealize
• Strong experience with:
  • Storage systems (e.g., VxBlock, VxRail, NetApp, vSAN)
  • Networking (Cisco environments)
• Experience at a Senior Storage or Virtualization Engineer/Administrator level
• Strong understanding of:
  • Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Middleware (application servers, web servers, databases)

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Containers (Kubernetes, Docker)
• Exposure to Public Cloud (Azure IaaS)
• Automation & orchestration tools:
  • Ansible
  • Terraform
• Basic scripting and development knowledge
• Experience in:
  • Data transformation initiatives
  • Infrastructure strategy & roadmap planning
  • Data center refresh projects
• Proven experience delivering end-to-end infrastructure solutions, including:
  • Design → Implementation → Operations → Maintenance → Decommissioning

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field,
• OR equivalent combination of education and experience
