Position Description

  • Plan, initiate, and manage information technology (IT) projects.
  • Lead and guide the work of technical staff.
  • Serve as liaison between business and technical aspects of projects.
  • Plan project stages and assess business implications for each stage.
  • Monitor progress to assure deadlines, standards, and cost targets are met.

  • Provides technical/management leadership on major tasks or technology assignments.
  • Establishes goals and plans that meet project objectives.
  • Has domain and expert technical knowledge.
  • Directs and controls activities for a client, having overall responsibility for financial management, methods, and staffing to ensure that technical requirements are met.
  • Interactions involve client negotiations and interfacing with senior management.
  • Decision making and domain knowledge may have a critical impact on overall project implementation.
  • May supervise others.

Qualifications

The Information Technology Project Manager (SME) shall possess the following qualifications (preferred):

  • 5+ years of direct project management experience in delivery of information systems or computer network support services.
  • The candidate should currently have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Management, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or Cybersecurity and one or more of the following certifications: Certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Project Director (CPD), or Master Project Manager (MPM).
