One of the leading providers of best-in-class information technology services and solutions is looking for a Level 4 IT Support Specialist to join their Charlottesville, VA team!

The client is looking for a highly skilled and self-driven Tier 4 IT Support Technician to join the technical operations team. This role requires 8–10 years of progressive IT support experience, with the ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve complex end-user and infrastructure issues. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver who understands customer needs, can operate with minimal oversight, and bridges the gap between support and engineering. Responsibilities span endpoint setup and delivery, advanced issue resolution, software deployments, light scripting, and cross-functional infrastructure support.

Contract Duration: 6-Month Contract with the opportunity for extension or conversion

Required Skills & Experience

  • 8–10 years of hands-on IT support experience, including at least 2–3 years at a Tier 3/4 level.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues independently across various platforms and technologies.
  • Strong understanding of endpoint deployment, configuration, imaging, and software provisioning.
  • Familiarity with enterprise software deployment tools and ticketing systems (e.g., SCCM, Intune, ServiceNow).
  • Basic scripting proficiency in PowerShell, Bash, or similar for task automation.
  • Comfortable supporting both users and backend infrastructure, including Windows/Linux server environments.

What You Will Be Doing

Daily Responsibilities

  • Provide expert-level (Tier 4) support to end users, handling escalations from Tier 2 and Tier 3 support teams.
  • Independently diagnose and resolve complex issues across hardware, software, network, and systems.
  • Set up, configure, and deliver endpoint devices (laptops, desktops, mobile devices) with required software and security settings.
  • Perform software installations, updates, and license management across platforms.
  • Support and maintain endpoint management systems, user profiles, and workstation configurations.
  • Develop and run light scripts (PowerShell, Bash, etc.) to automate common tasks and improve efficiency.
  • Provide server and infrastructure support as needed, including OS-level troubleshooting and service validation.
