Information Technology System Engineer

The Information Technology System Engineer role requires a broad set of skills and expertise in system engineering, IT system design, and implementation. The successful candidate should be capable of translating complex requirements into efficient, cost-effective systems solutions while balancing technical, schedule, and cost constraints.

In this role, you will:

Systems Engineering Activities:

• Engage in concept of operations formulation, requirements definition, analysis and engineering.
• Conduct system architecting, system analysis and design, interface and data architecture design, validation, and verification.
• Perform systems integration, operational performance analysis, lifecycle cost analysis, estimation, and decision analysis.
• Conduct physical configuration analysis (PCA).

Translation of Product Requirements:

• Ensure logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into comprehensive systems solutions that consider technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
• Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies.
• Translate customer requirements into hardware, software, or engineering specifications

Implementation of Efficient Solutions:

• Provide detailed information for selecting and implementing techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs.
• Address present and future capacity requirements.

Information Technology Focus:

• Concerned with aspects such as floor layout, power and cooling, data storage, infrastructure management, backup, monitoring, operating systems, directory services, identity management, access management, and automation.

Design and Implementation:

• Design and implement IT systems integrating diverse and complex components.
• Create problem statements, define operational requirements, research and model system architecture and configuration.
• Investigate alternatives, perform cost analysis and estimation, and conduct decision analysis.
• Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of requirements into comprehensive systems solutions considering technical, schedule, and cost constraints.

Detailed Information Provision:

• Provide specific, detailed information for the selection and implementation of techniques and tools for efficient solutions meeting business needs.
• Address facility requirements such as floor layout, power and cooling, network connectivity, data storage, backup, monitoring, operating systems, directory services, identity management, access management, and automation.

Qualifications:

• Active Top Secret Clearance, with the ability to obtain CI Poly
• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, and 2 years to 12+ years of experience. If utilizing in lieu of education, all experience must be at or above the position level described above.
• Systems Engineering: Expertise in systems engineering methodologies, including requirements analysis, system architecting, and lifecycle cost analysis.
• Technical Proficiency: Deep understanding of IT infrastructure components, operating systems, data storage, backup, and monitoring systems.
• Analytical Skills: Ability to conduct functional and timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, and requirements allocation.
• Specific IT Domain Expertise: Competence in one or more of the following IT disciplines: Networks, Telephony, Cloud Hosting, Data Centers, Business Applications, AI/ML, etc.)
• Design and Implementation: Competence in designing and implementing IT systems, integrating complex components, and ensuring they meet business needs.
• Problem Solving: Skill in creating problem statements, investigating alternatives, and performing decision analysis.
• Communication: Ability to provide detailed and specific information for technical solutions and business needs.
