Infrastructure Solutions Architect
Flexstaf I.T. Inc.
About the role
Position Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Infrastructure Solutions Architect to join our collaborative team in Edmonton. With over 40 years of success as a leading Managed Service Provider (MSP), we pride ourselves on low turnover and long-standing relationships within the government, healthcare, and private sectors.
In this role, you will be the technical bridge between our sales consultants and our diverse client base. You aren't just a "back-room" architect; you are a customer-facing advisor who can design robust, high-performance on-premises infrastructure solutions. You will oversee the technical lifecycle from pre-sales design to delivery, ensuring our sub-vendors meet the high standards defined in our SLAs.
Key Responsibilities
- Solution Architecture: Design and architect comprehensive "On-Prem" infrastructure solutions, specifically leveraging HPE, Dell EMC, and Lenovo technologies.
- Sales Collaboration: Partner with three dedicated sales consultants in Edmonton (and occasionally Calgary) to attend client meetings, gather requirements, and present technical solutions.
- Project Oversight: Act as the technical lead overseeing sub-vendors and partners to ensure implementations are delivered successfully and on schedule.
- Pre-Sales Support: Lead the technical components of RFP/RFI responses and provide detailed documentation for proposed environments.
- Strategic Advisement: Maintain deep relationships with existing clients in healthcare and government, ensuring their hardware lifecycles are managed effectively.
- Versatility: Assist with internal technical documentation and special projects as needed during fluctuating workloads.
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience: 10–15 years in IT infrastructure with a heavy focus on hardware architecture.
- Consulting Background: Previous experience working for an MSP or a consulting firm is highly preferred.
- Client Interfacing: Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- On-Prem Expertise: Expert-level knowledge of server, storage, and networking hardware (this role is hardware-centric rather than cloud-centric).
- SLA Management: Experience overseeing third-party vendors and ensuring quality control across delivery phases.
