Mission Context

Within the TV Product Architecture and Engineering (PTV) team, you will participate in defining the FUNCTIONAL architecture of TV services and embedded applications on Android STBs or TV applications for various services: Live, EPG, VOD, Catch-up Services, Network PVR, Start Over, Advertising, Consents (GDPR), Protocol Security.

The design and study of a new or evolving service involves:

• Participating in design meetings with end-to-end engineering teams and other systems.
• Defining Use Cases, Service Requirements, and STB impacts.
• Writing functional and technical design specifications.
• Providing support to the various teams who will use these specifications.

Some optional aspects of the mission include:

• Adapting the technical state-of-the-art (accessibility, HDMI, Bluetooth, Wifi, ...) to the context of TV services and TV products.
• Proposing and experimenting with new study methods through process automation or AI agents.
• Evaluating and analyzing new technologies or OS versions.

Preferred Knowledge:

• Video Player (Android ExoPlayer Media3, iOS, Shakaplayer)
• Embedded environments & constraints
• WIFI (performance testing)
• Web services and APIs

Objectives and Deliverables

You will manage the different design phases of a service:

• Study Phase (Design): Feasibility, Performance, Security, UI Ergonomics, Robustness, Prototype or test monitoring, FUNCTIONAL Architecture Design, Definition of Service Requirements and Product Impacts, Writing detailed architecture documentation.

• Realization Phase (Monitoring): Presentation and Support for detailed software architecture definition, support for development/pre-integration/validation/operation.

Presentation (PowerPoint) to a group during and at the end of the study phase, as well as at the beginning of the realization phase.

You will be involved in (depending on the case):

• Taking charge of complete studies yourself.
• Working within a transverse study team and representing the PTV study entity or working solo (particular PTV only case).
• Summary presentation of a study.
• Presentation of study results (delivery or contribution).
• Documentary update of the STB heritage (Word, Confluence).
• Creation of architecture diagrams, Call Flows, Synopses, Sequences.
• Case analysis / Study of standards or internal/supplier documents.
• Investigation of "field" problems / Participation in tests.
