Automation Specialist

About the Role

You will be part of a European virtual team dedicated to Packaging Automation Life Cycle Support. The position involves 50 to 60% travel.

As an Automation Specialist, you will be responsible for the implementation of automation projects and services in the packaging sector as well as standard service products. You will contribute to the development of new products and provide comprehensive technical support to customers for all automation solutions.

You will also provide technical support to the sales force throughout the commercial process (understanding needs, developing solutions, highlighting benefits).

You will collaborate closely with global and local A&D teams, pre-project and project teams, Service teams, and Packaging Solutions.

Your understanding of customer needs and your ability to translate them into automation solutions will be essential. Your commitment, passion for industrial technologies, and rigor will be major assets.

What You'll Do

• Prepare, design and implement automation projects
• Coordinate work with automation engineers, consultants and suppliers
• Gather and verify technical documentation necessary for projects
• Provide technical concepts for pre-project and pre-sales phases
• Provide remote assistance, service and start-up of Tetra Pak equipment
• Commission Tetra Pak Line Controllers
• Diagnose and intervene on low voltage, very low voltage and database systems
• Work on different automation platforms (Siemens, Rockwell, Beckhoff)
• Modify PLC programs and re-commission installations
• Finalize project transfer and collaborate with sales and technical teams for problem resolution
• Write intervention reports and transmit necessary documents to clients and the office
• Document service activities and update customer data (equipment, contracts, etc.)
• Perform customer visits to resolve technical issues in support of Account Managers and the Service Manager

Profile Description

What We're Looking For

• University degree in Information Technology or Automation, with 5 to 7 years of experience, ideally in the liquid food industry
• Demonstrated mastery of automation, MES, industrial IT and data management
• Experience or training in automation, electrical/electronic engineering or control systems
• Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial automation
• Very good command of the Rockwell platform; Beckhoff is an asset.
• Excellent command of English and French, both written and spoken
• Excellent written, oral and computer skills
