The Fluid Systems group is responsible for the design, modeling, and analysis of the secondary air system (SAS), lubrication system, and fuel system for PWC engines. These three systems work closely together to ensure effective engine thermal management.
This role offers the opportunity to directly contribute to the development and validation of critical systems at the core of Pratt & Whitney engine performance and reliability. The candidate will excel in a highly stimulating environment, with opportunities to progressively take ownership of complete projects of significant scope and complexity, depending on their experience and interests.
This is a full-time position from Monday to Friday with flexible hours, based in Longueuil , and performed exclusively on-site.
What will your day-to-day look like?
- Lead complete projects of significant scope and complexity related to secondary air systems (SAS), lubrication, and engine thermal management systems for a variety of power plants and possible interfaces with aircrafts.
- Perform system integration analyses and contribute to design activities.
- Conduct Fluid Systems’ integration analyses and develop solutions to issues encountered during development and in-service operation.
- Define requirements by writing request for test, follow and support any validation tests.
- Analyze test data, validate system performance, and ensure calibration of analytical models.
- Provide technical support to production and customers, and contribute to certification activities for new engine programs.
- Contribute to the development of new technologies and the improvement of analytical tools and processes.
What do you need to be successful?
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (aerospace, mechanical) or a related field (aerodynamics, thermodynamics), with 5 to 10 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 3 to 7 years of experience.
- Strong interest in fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, and modeling.
- Strong system level problem-solving skills.
This position is part of a French-speaking work environment, it requires a very good knowledge of English to read and understand, on a daily basis, documentation and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and communicate in English with customers, suppliers or international colleagues.
