CESI is recruiting a research engineer to contribute to the REISAR project, dedicated to the development of a semi-autonomous robot for the inspection of sanitation networks. The objective: to replace human intervention in complex environments to detect anomalies and limit water loss and pollution.
The position is part of the Défi Transfert Robotique call for projects operated by the ANR and funded by France 2030.
Responsibilities
Within Work Package 1 (navigation in heterogeneous land/water environments), you will be responsible for:
- Integrating the robotic solution developed in the project
- Assembling software and hardware components with partners
- Carrying out test, verification, and validation phases in a representative environment
- Participating in the field experimentation of the robotic platform
- Analyzing results and proposing improvements
- Contributing to robotic design and control
- Implementing continuous integration processes
- Writing technical documentation and deliverables
- Ensuring technological watch in your field
Expected deliverable: instrumented mobile platform integrating sensors and computing capacity, capable of operating in a heterogeneous environment.
Environment
You will join CESI LINEACT (UR 7527), an applied research laboratory dedicated to technological changes in industry and construction. The project involves expertise in robotics, AI, embedded systems, and IoT, with a strong field experimentation dimension.

Requirements
YOUR PROFILE
- Master's degree in engineering
- Experience in robotic integration, testing/validation, or software development
- Technical English
Technical Skills
- Python and C++ development
- ROS robotics environment
- Continuous integration and software validation
- System testing and qualification methods
- Robotic control
- Field experience in robotics appreciated

Conditions
- Fixed-term contract (CDD) for 8 to 12 months
- Start date: June 2026
- Location: CESI Campus Nantes
- Salary: €38–41 K gross annual salary over 13 months
- Driving license (Permis B) mandatory: travel to the industrial partner for integration
- Occasional travel: Saint-Nazaire + CESI Rouen campus and potentially other locations as needed for the project.
