Job Dimensions

Position provides technical guidance and support for all data management and data mining functions involving data analysis across all sites in AMAS as well as executive level reporting.

Position independently handles system configuration, development, troubleshooting issues, user access, dash boarding, and collaboration with business counterparts.

Alignment with regional strategic guidance and assesses opportunities to align globally.

Scope

Supports the technical landscape for Manufacturing, Process Technology, Research & Development and Health & Safety (EHS).

Covers technical application development and enhancements for MES Data Historians, OSI PI, Aspen Tech, AI-Machine Learning analysis as well as other future technology requirements.

Activities

Data Integration Management (50%)

  • Serve as a technical advisor partnering with internal clients to understand key data points, business functions, and informational needs.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure team to define requirements for data lakes and data strategies for business integration.
  • Explain technical considerations to internal clients and less experienced team members.
  • Translate business specifications into design specifications and code.
  • Build requirements to identify suitable data sources meeting regional and global business needs.
  • Assist with analysis of data elements, systems, data flows, dependencies, and relationships for data models.
  • Build strategies to support data ingestion timing for real-time versus scheduled extracts.
  • Participate in gathering requirements for ETL processes, database system designs, and tool development for analytic processing.
  • Perform initial data quality checks on extracted data.
  • Assist with analysis of data-related system integration challenges and propose solutions.
  • Ensure all code is well structured, documented, maintainable, and reusable.
  • Troubleshoot software and processes for data consistency and integrity.
  • Integrate data from various sources for business insight and decision making.
  • Create test cases to review and validate solution design.
  • Conduct research and test new technologies to enhance data lake and business use cases.
  • Recommend small to medium solutions comparing custom development and purchased alternatives.
  • Apply automation and innovation on data platforms aligned to business strategies.
  • Implement processes aligned to data management standards ensuring data quality in system development.
  • Support and follow Data Services Policies, Procedures & Standards.

Implementation (30%)

  • Assist with detailed gap analysis for software package or SaaS solutions.
  • Run Functional Acceptance Test campaigns.
  • Write user and administration manuals.

Build to Run (10%)

  • Design and roll-out user support including error handling and data quality processes.
  • Implement self-care forms on ServiceNow and coordinate roll-out and change management.

Application Support (10%)

  • Perform Level 2 & 3 user support and incident management.
  • Deliver maintenance and support including testing and implementing new software releases.
  • Identify issues and engage vendors to resolve and elevate software into production.
  • Perform root cause analysis, issue resolution, bug fixes, routine maintenance, business modifications, testing, and documentation.
  • Ensure modifications fix issues and meet user expectations via thorough testing and requirements gathering.
  • Monitor system processes and manage maintenance assignments including updates, enhancements, and standardizing processes.
  • Participate in application lifecycle upgrade projects.

Context and Environment

  • Proven working experience as an integration analyst or similar role.
  • Basic knowledge of the technical environment/tools for own area.
  • Independently answers user questions and resolves issues.
  • History as a collaborative team player with strong communication skills.
  • Technical expertise in data models, database design, data mining, and segmentation techniques.
  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages (Excel, SPSS, SAS).
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Adept at queries, report writing, and presenting findings.
  • Travel typically less than 5%, international travel may be required.
  • May perform enhancement or support activities outside normal working hours.
  • Follows and enforces internal IT policies and standards.
  • Supports site HES policy and complies with regulatory and internal requirements.
  • Participates in HES activities and promotes reporting of health, safety, environmental incidents.

Qualifications/Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer/data science or related technical experience.
  • 1-3 years of hands-on relational, dimensional, and/or analytic experience.
  • Knowledge of data modeling with data strategy for data pipelines and data products.
  • 1-3 years experience in various technical aspects of business systems and applications.
  • Experience with SQL, Python, OLAP, Shell, Git, Docker, XML, and HTML.
  • Experience with Relational Database Systems including AWS options and MS SQL Server.
  • General knowledge of AWS services such as IAM, S3, Glue, Athena, Lambda, Step functions, Cloud formation, Cloud Watch, Lake Formation, Secret manager, API Gateway, SageMaker, ECS.
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI and QuickSight.
  • Knowledge of API REST, Graph, SOAP, JDBC/ODBC, OData, authentication and certificates.
  • Experience with basics of network infrastructure including TCP/IP and firewalls.
  • Understanding of Windows Domain/Group security issues.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
