About
Seeking an Intermediate Automation Tester to become part of the QA team. Responsible for creating and maintaining automated test cases under the guidance of the Test Lead.
Working closely with QA and engineering teams, this position focuses on developing and enhancing shared automation frameworks and testing tools that support multiple development teams. The role contributes to strengthening software quality by enabling efficient, scalable, and dependable automated testing practices.
The successful applicant should also be comfortable using modern AI-assisted development tools to improve automation efficiency while ensuring testing solutions remain stable, maintainable, and aligned with engineering standards.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support shared automation frameworks across engineering teams
- Create reusable automation components for APIs, services, and platforms
- Maintain scalable, reliable, and easy-to-maintain automation solutions
- Apply automation standards established by the QA function
- Integrate automated testing processes into CI/CD pipelines
- Ensure automated tests execute consistently across development and staging environments
- Work with engineering teams to improve testing infrastructure and DevOps execution pipelines
Additional Requirements
- Ability to use AI-assisted development tools to improve automation creation and troubleshooting
- Review AI-generated automation outputs to ensure accuracy and reliability
- Experience with the following technologies:
- REST / SOAP APIs
- Selenium / Cucumber / Katalon
- WebDriver.io / Protractor / Cucumber
- Grafana
Qualifications & Experience
- Grade 12 / Matric qualification
- 3–5 years’ experience in software testing and automation
- Relevant Diploma/Degree and/or professional certification such as ISTQB or ISEB
- Experience creating automated tests for APIs, services, and application platforms
- Exposure to building or enhancing automation frameworks
- Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD environments
- Experience collaborating across multiple systems and development teams
- Familiarity with version control tools such as Git
