Solution Architect

At Gateway, we’re building the future of operational technology, and we’re looking for a Solution Architect to help lead the evolution of our core platform, Paws eTrack.

What You’ll Do

• Own and evolve the architecture roadmap for a scalable, secure, and high‑performing platform
• Design modern integrations across ERP, CRM, logistics, workforce systems, and external partners
• Champion API‑first and event‑driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus, etc.)
• Guide data strategies across SQL & NoSQL environments
• Identify and mitigate technical debt and architectural risks
• Partner with Engineering, Product, IT, and operational teams to deliver real‑world solutions

What You Bring

• 5–8 years in software engineering, systems design, or solution architecture
• Experience with enterprise integrations and distributed systems
• Strong knowledge of:
  • Microservices & modern web architectures
  • Messaging systems & asynchronous processing
  • Cloud platforms (Azure or AWS)
  • Relational + NoSQL databases
• Ability to clearly communicate complex ideas to both technical and non‑technical audiences

Work Environment

• Hybrid role based in Guelph, Ontario
• Occasional travel to Care Centres to connect architecture with real‑world workflows

Education

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field preferred
• Equivalent hands‑on experience in enterprise architecture is equally valued
