Intern – Scientific Data Engineering (m/f/d)

Do you have a passion for software, technology, and innovation and want to apply your knowledge in a practical way? In this software-intensive role, you will design and build databases, structure distributed test and measurement data from chemistry and engineering, and make it usable for analyses and product improvements – in close collaboration with experienced colleagues. You can expect an interdisciplinary environment with a hands-on mentality and direct influence on real products.

We are looking for an Intern – Scientific Data Engineering (m/f/d) for our location in Füllinsdorf. The internship is limited until [date not specified].

Responsibilities

Your tasks include:

• Building a database structure including a user-friendly frontend.
• Defining and implementing input parameters (material data, setup, environment, test objectives, results).
• Integrating existing POC data (e.g., WCS).
• Developing search and analysis functions for performance predictions and setup behavior.
• Collaborating with chemists, product managers, and engineers to ensure relevant and correct data.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you need:

• Bachelor or Master in Computer Science, Data Science, Chemical Engineering, or a similar field.
• Experience with database development and frontend applications.
• Knowledge in data modeling and statistical analysis of technical measurement data.
• English and German language skills (min. C1 Level).
• Understanding of chemical or material-related properties is an advantage.
• Ability to work with interdisciplinary stakeholders.
