About the role
Introduction
This is an office-based, internally focused sales role that supports external sales activities and project execution. We are specifically seeking candidates with practical knowledge and experience in valves and actuation, rather than general commercial sales profiles.
Duties & Responsibilities
Technical & Industry Experience
- Proven track record in internal/inside sales within industrial environments.
- Hands-on knowledge of valves and actuators, including butterfly, ball, and knife gate valves, as well as actuators and related accessories.
- Experience across process industries such as mining, water, oil & gas, power, and manufacturing.
- Ability to interpret data sheets, specifications, and basic P&IDs is advantageous.
Commercial & Operational Skills
- Strong experience in preparing technical and commercial quotations.
- Proficient in order processing and providing project support.
- Understanding of project workflows, priorities, and deadlines.
- Customer-focused with a high level of attention to detail.
Systems & Office Skills
- Strong computer literacy and proficiency with ERP/CRM systems such as SAP, Infor, Oracle, or Dynamics.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Prior experience in a structured, office-based sales environment is essential
Desired Experience & Qualification
Education / Formal Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Business, Commerce, Engineering, or a related field.
- Technical or vocational training can be advantageous in industrial sectors.
- Familiarity with process industries (oil & gas, water, mining, manufacturing) is a plus.
Work Experience
- 3–5 years in internal / inside sales, preferably in an industrial or technical environment.
- Experience preparing quotations, proposals, and pricing.
- Exposure to customer support and order processing.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (like Infor LN, SAP, or Oracle) is advantageous.
- Understanding of technical specifications, datasheets, and P&IDs (for engineering-related sales).
Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills—ability to liaise with customers, sales teams, and operations.
- Commercial acumen: understanding pricing, margins, and terms of sale.
- Ability to interpret technical data and translate it for sales purposes.
- Organizational skills: tracking orders, follow-ups, and reporting.
- Problem-solving mindset—handling customer inquiries or order issues effectively.
