About the role
As an International Accountant for a FinTech organization in Mumbai, you will play a crucial role in leading the accounting function with a focus on both domestic and international accounting standards. Your responsibilities will include:
- Financial Accounting & Reporting: - Maintaining books of accounts as per Ind AS / Indian GAAP and IFRS / US GAAP - Preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements - Managing General Ledger, reconciliations, accruals, provisions, depreciation, and journal entries - Ensuring timely and accurate period closures
- Statutory & Tax Compliance (India): - Coordinating with Chartered Accountants for statutory audits, tax audits, GST, TDS, Income Tax, ROC filings - Ensuring full compliance with Companies Act, Income Tax Act, GST Act
- International Accounting & Cross-Border Compliance: - Handling multi-currency transactions, foreign exchange accounting, and revaluations - Managing intercompany accounting, reconciliations, and transfer pricing coordination - Preparing reports for overseas entities under IFRS / US GAAP - Liaising with international auditors, consultants, and clients
- Leadership & Controls: - Leading and guiding junior accounting staff - Implementing strong internal controls & SOPs - Driving process improvements, automation, and system accuracy - Acting as the key accounting SPOC for management, auditors, and advisors
- MIS & Management Reporting: - Preparing MIS, variance analysis, and financial dashboards - Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis - Providing financial insights to management for decision-making
Qualifications & Skills Required: - 4+ years of hands-on accounting experience - Strong working knowledge of Ind AS, Indian GAAP, IFRS / US GAAP - Experience working with CA firms, audits, and statutory filings - Exposure to international clients or MNC accounting - Proficiency in Excel, Tally, SAP, QuickBooks, Zoho, or similar ERP - Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications: - B.Com / M.Com / MBA Finance - CA-Inter / CA-Article / Semi-qualified CA - Experience in fintech, IT/ITES, or global firms
