Inventory & Capex Analyst

About

The Capex & Inventory Analyst ensures the accuracy, integrity, and optimization of inventory, Open To Buy and capital expenditures across stores, warehouses, and e-commerce. The role provides financial transparency, variance analysis and decision-support to Finance, Merchandising, Supply Chain, and Retail to optimize working capital and profitability. The analyst also supports CAPEX tracking for store openings and refurbishments and contributes to monthly close activities and governance.

Responsibilities

• Perform inventory reconciliation and variance analysis, including support for physical stock counts.
• Prepare and monitor monthly inventory KPIs and management dashboards (accuracy, ageing, DOI, stock coverage, sell-through).
• Support inventory valuation and preparation of provisions for shrinkage, slow-moving, and damaged stock.
• Monitor and manage Open To Buy budgets, tracking actuals vs. forecast and identifying risks and opportunities.
• Track and analyze CAPEX budgets vs. actuals for store openings, refurbishments, fixtures and IT assets; support post-implementation reviews.
• Develop and enforce inventory control procedures and cycle count policies across retail locations.
• Support month-end closing activities related to inventory balances, provisions, and depreciation/amortization.
• Partner cross-functionally to ensure data accuracy and operational alignment with store teams and other stakeholders.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in financial analysis, auditing, or working capital management, ideally in luxury or premium retail.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Operations or related field.
• Strong knowledge of retail operations, stock flows and inventory procedures; leasing accounting knowledge and IFRS16 a plus.
• Proficiency with ERP/POS and inventory systems (S4HANA, SAP SD) and advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau and strong data analysis capabilities.
• Experience in multi-store, multi-channel luxury environments, with attention to detail and strong problem-solving and communication skills.
