Our client, a prestigious investment bank, is seeking a highly analytical and driven Investment Banking Analyst to join their elite team in Ilorin, Kwara, NG. This demanding role involves providing financial advisory services to corporations, governments, and other entities, with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, and financial restructuring. The successful candidate will be instrumental in conducting in-depth financial analysis, building complex financial models, and preparing compelling presentations for clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform in-depth financial analysis, valuation modeling (DCF, precedent transactions, comparable companies), and industry research.
- Assist in the preparation of client presentations, pitch books, and memorandums for M&A transactions, debt and equity offerings.
- Support senior bankers in managing client relationships and transaction execution.
- Conduct due diligence on potential clients and investment opportunities.
- Monitor market trends and economic developments relevant to the financial advisory sector.
- Develop and maintain complex financial models to support valuation and transaction analysis.
- Coordinate with other advisors, legal counsel, and regulatory bodies involved in transactions.
- Assist in the origination of new business by identifying potential clients and opportunities.
- Ensure all work is completed accurately, professionally, and within strict deadlines.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and ethical standards.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and colleagues across different departments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related quantitative field from a top-tier university.
- Demonstrated academic excellence (minimum GPA of 3.5/4.0 or equivalent).
- Prior internship experience in investment banking, corporate finance, private equity, or management consulting is highly preferred.
- Exceptional quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including complex modeling) and PowerPoint.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statement analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work long hours in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- High level of motivation, initiative, and intellectual curiosity.
- Team-oriented attitude with the ability to work effectively under supervision.
