IPX Operations & Network Engineer (m/w/d)

Role

In this role, you will shape reliable, cross-border connectivity that connects people, devices, and services worldwide. You will analyze, design, and optimize network protocols in the IPX environment, thereby contributing to the technological advancement of international roaming services. You will be responsible for implementing new standards and technologies, ensuring that connections function stably and securely even in critical moments. You will work closely with international contacts and contribute your expertise in a structured and solution-oriented manner. Through your experience as a professional, you will significantly influence technical decisions and drive innovation in global network connectivity.

Qualifications

• You have a degree in telecommunications, communication systems, or equivalent, with very good IP knowledge.
• Experience with Cisco and Arista routers/switches, including firewalls, covering configuration, troubleshooting, and optimization.
• Deep understanding of BGP, IS-IS, MPLS, TCP/IP, IPSec, VLAN, QoS, and DNS, as well as network security.
• You are communicative, customer-oriented, and service-focused, with excellent written and spoken German.

Responsibilities

• You continuously operate, maintain, and develop Comfone's IPX transport services and systems, ensuring stable operations.
• In daily operations, you implement and manage IP transport access links, including planning, routing, testing, and clean documentation.
• You actively improve the IP access infrastructure to keep IPX services scalable and highly available.
• With your monitoring approach, you permanently oversee the network and ensure capacities before problems arise.
• You analyze and resolve disruptions worldwide quickly to minimize downtime and efficiently restore services.
