Business Analyst – Insurance Transformation & Operating Model

Overview

A global commercial insurance organization is seeking a Business Analyst to support enterprise transformation initiatives focused on modernizing operating models, improving delivery execution, and maximizing value from core systems and emerging technologies. This role sits at the intersection of business and technology, helping translate strategic objectives into actionable requirements and scalable processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate strategic initiatives and operating model objectives into detailed business and functional requirements
• Support implementation and adoption of a defined Target Operating Model (TOM) across teams, processes, and governance structures
• Analyze current-state workflows and identify gaps relative to future-state operating models
• Elicit, document, and manage requirements including user stories, use cases, and process flows
• Partner with cross-functional teams to support delivery across core system initiatives (policy, claims, billing, etc.)
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
• Assist with business readiness efforts, including documentation, training support, and adoption tracking
• Identify opportunities to enhance processes through automation, analytics, and AI-enabled capabilities
• Coordinate across stakeholders to ensure alignment between business needs and technical solutions

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Business Analysis within insurance, transformation, or technology-driven environments
• Strong understanding of commercial insurance workflows (underwriting, policy administration, claims, billing)
• Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban)
• Proven ability to translate business needs into structured requirements and functional specifications
• Experience with process mapping, gap analysis, and operating model frameworks
• Familiarity with AI-enabled tools (automation, decision support, analytics) is a plus
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Microsoft Office Suite
