We are seeking a skilled IT Project Manager to join our team and lead significant data modernization initiatives. In this role, you will be responsible for transitioning legacy data platforms to innovative cloud solutions on Databricks. Your expertise will drive high-impact projects ranging from six-figure to low seven-figure budgets, collaborating closely with engineering, architecture, infrastructure teams, and executive stakeholders to achieve timely, budget-compliant, and quality outcomes.
As a hands-on leader, you will need exceptional communication skills as well as proficiency with Smartsheet, Clarity, and Jira in a Hybrid Agile environment. You will manage risks, issues, and dependencies while ensuring adherence to governance and security standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee the complete lifecycle of complicated IT and data platform projects from initiation to closure.
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, risks, issues, and dependencies efficiently.
- Supervise execution of data platform migration projects, ensuring seamless data transfer from legacy systems to modern architectures.
- Collaborate to ensure that all activities align with enterprise IT, data governance, and security protocols.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, RAID logs, budgets, and schedules.
- Act as the primary interface between technical teams and executive leadership, providing clear status updates.
- Communicate effectively about risks, issues, trade-offs, and recommendations for executive decision-making.
- Prepare and present executive-level status reports and presentations.
- Facilitate productive discussions among engineering, architecture, infrastructure, and business stakeholders.
- Guide teams in a Hybrid Agile environment, steering towards full Agile execution.
- Adapt methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid) to suit project requirements.
- Participate in weekly or bi-weekly RAID and project reviews, maintaining project alignment and focus.
- Utilize Smartsheet, Clarity, and Jira for project tracking and reporting.
- Ensure precise financial tracking, reconciliation, and forecasting for projects.
- Proactively identify challenges and propose actionable solutions.
- Follow up to guarantee commitments are met and resolve obstacles promptly.
- Reestablish project momentum when unexpected issues arise.
- Complete onboarding and take ownership of projects within the first six months.
- Deliver consistent project health reporting via Smartsheet and Clarity.
- Build and maintain trust with engineering teams, program leadership, and executives.
Experience Requirements:
- 7-10+ years of experience in IT Project Management, focusing on large-scale or enterprise initiatives.
- A proven track record of managing projects in the $700K-$10M+ range.
- Experience leading data-centric or platform migration projects.
- Strong understanding of IT systems, data platforms, and analytics ecosystems.
- Hands-on experience with Smartsheet, Clarity, and Jira.
- Exceptional risk, issue, and dependency management skills.
- Competence in preparing and delivering executive-level communications and reports.
- Familiarity with working in Hybrid Agile frameworks and transitioning towards Agile delivery.
- Experience with Databricks, partnering with data engineering teams, and leading data migration initiatives is preferred.
- Understanding of large-scale data transformation and AI-enabled platforms is a plus.
- ServiceNow SPM experience and previous roles within data and analytics organizations are favorable.
- Former experience in data engineering is an advantage.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
