About the role
• *Job Purpose**
To lead the delivery, stability, and continuous improvement of enterprise IT systems supporting Shared Services functions, including Finance, HR, and other corporate capabilities.
The role is accountable for the end-to-end ownership of core enterprise platforms, ensuring system reliability, optimisation, and alignment to business strategy, regulatory requirements, and operational excellence. • *Job Objectives** • Own and deliver the IT strategy and roadmap for Group/Shared Services systems, aligned to business and enterprise IT strategy. • Ensure stability, performance, and availability of core enterprise platforms (e.g., SAP FI, SAP HCM, and related systems). • Lead the design, development, and enhancement of enterprise applications, ensuring scalability, integration, and best practice architecture. • Drive continuous improvement and optimisation of business processes enabled by technology (Finance, HR, Procurement, etc.). • Ensure strong governance, controls, and compliance, including financial controls, audit requirements, and regulatory standards. • Manage delivery of projects and system enhancements, ensuring on-time, on-budget, and value-driven execution. • Lead and develop technical teams (team leads, developers, functional specialists) to deliver high-quality solutions and support. • Partner with business executives (CFO, CPO, Shared Services leaders) to ensure business alignment and value realisation. • Ensure integration of Group systems with Retail, UPD, and other platforms across the enterprise architecture. • *Job Related Knowledge** • Deep knowledge of enterprise systems (SAP FI, SAP HCM, ERP ecosystems) • Strong understanding of finance and HR business processes • Knowledge of enterprise architecture, system integration, and data flows • Understanding of IT governance, risk, and compliance (including audit and controls) • Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile/DevOps practices • Experience with SAP S/4HANA transformation or similar ERP modernisation • Knowledge of cloud platforms and enterprise integration patterns • Understanding of data governance and reporting requirements • Exposure to automation (RPA), AI, and digital transformation in shared services • *Job Related Skills** • Strategic thinking and enterprise-wide systems leadership • Strong stakeholder management at executive level (CFO, CPO, EXCO’s) • Ability to translate business needs into scalable technology solutions • Delivery leadership (large-scale ERP and system implementations) • Strong people leadership (technical teams, developers, functional experts) • Vendor and partner management • Financial and cost management • Change leadership and business transformation capability • Process optimisation and automation mindset • Data-driven decision-making • Negotiation and influencing skills • *Job Experience** • 10+ years’ experience in enterprise IT environments, with significant exposure to ERP systems • Proven experience leading SAP (FI, HCM) or equivalent enterprise platforms • Experience managing technical teams (developers, architects, functional leads) • Demonstrated experience delivering large-scale IT projects and system transformations • Experience partnering with Finance and HR executives • Retail, healthcare, or omnichannel business analytics experience • Experience in AI ethics, governance, and responsible deployment • Experience integrating AI solutions with enterprise architecture and IT platforms • *Education** • Honours degree (or equivalent) in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field • SAP and ERP-related certifications • Postgraduate qualification (MBA or equivalent) • Project management certification (e.g., PMP, Agile)
