Role

In this role, as a Senior IT Infrastructure System Engineer, you will actively shape a stable, secure, and future-proof system landscape. You will be responsible for the operation, optimization, and further development of the IT infrastructure, ensuring that systems run reliably, performantly, and with high availability. You will analyze complex technical requirements, plan suitable solutions, and implement them in a structured manner. You will coordinate with internal and external contacts and ensure smooth operation through clear documentation and processes. With your broad technical expertise, you will bring new ideas and contribute significantly to the continuous improvement of the IT environment.

Responsibilities

• You will build and reliably maintain our state-of-the-art, scalable IT infrastructure in redundant data centers.
• In this role, you will design, develop, and implement our virtualization platform.
• You will conceptualize, develop, and realize new highly available infrastructure solutions.
• As an IT Infrastructure System Engineer, you will support and optimize our multi-domain construct, including AD, GPO, and Exchange, in 3rd level support.
• You will coordinate suppliers and partners and take on partial project management in infrastructure and customer projects.
• In this role, you will create and maintain meaningful operational documentation for smooth operation.

Qualifications

• Completed apprenticeship as an IT specialist EFZ or equivalent qualification, ideally with further education at HF or FH level.
• Sound experience in the operation and administration of Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policies (GPO).
• Very good knowledge of VMware for setting up and managing virtual infrastructures.
• Strong analytical thinking and a structured, methodical approach to problem-solving.
• High quality standards for clear, understandable, and complete documentation.
• Resilient, motivated, and team-oriented personality with a responsible and independent work style.
• Fluent in German.
