About the role

Job Summary

  • As an IT Project Manager you will plan, execute, and close technology projects (software, infrastructure, security) by managing scope, budgets, timelines, and cross-functional teams.
  • They act as the bridge between technical staff and business stakeholders, ensuring deliverables meet quality standards and strategic goals.
  • Key duties include risk mitigation, resource allocation, and progress reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Risk & Issue Management: Identify potential risks, develop mitigation plans, and resolve issues to minimize delays.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary liaison between technical teams, vendors, and executive leadership, providing regular status updates.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and manage project teams, ensuring collaboration and adherence to project goals.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure project deliverables meet technical standards and business requirements.
  • Project Planning & Execution: Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and detailed timelines (schedules) from initiation to completion.
  • Budget Management: Develop, monitor, and control project budgets to ensure cost-effective delivery.

Job Functions:

  • Scope Management: Defining what is and is not included in the project.
  • Resource Allocation: Allocating team members and resources efficiently.
  • Vendor Management: Coordinating with external vendors and contractors.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience: Proven experience (typically 3-5+ years) in IT project management,
  • Often requiring a Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or Business.
  • Methodologies: Knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with IT infrastructure, software development lifecycles, and project management software (e.g., Jira, MS Project).
  • Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.

Common Certifications:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM)
  • PRINCE2 Certification.
