Business Development Manager - IT Services (IT Projects / New Client Acquisition)
Role & Responsibilities
- Drive new client acquisition for IT projects by owning the full sales cycle — prospecting, qualification, proposal, negotiation, and closure for enterprise and mid-market accounts (on-site engagements across India).
- Build and manage a healthy pipeline using targeted outbound strategies, industry mapping, and account-based selling to meet aggressive revenue targets and KPI metrics.
- Prepare compelling, client-specific proposals and RFP responses; coordinate with pre-sales, solutions architects, and delivery teams to design commercially viable solutions.
- Leverage CRM to maintain accurate opportunity data, produce reliable forecasts, and convert leads into signed contracts with clean handoffs to delivery and account management teams.
- Negotiate commercial terms and drive contract closure while protecting margin and compliance; escalate and resolve commercial or delivery concerns swiftly.
- Develop market intelligence, identify sector-specific buyers, and establish strategic relationships and partnerships to accelerate deal velocity.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- Proven track record in IT services or enterprise software sales with demonstrated new-client acquisitions and closed deals.
- Strong understanding of IT project lifecycle, delivery models, and typical commercial constructs for services-based engagements.
- Hands-on experience with CRM-driven pipeline management (Salesforce preferred) and structured forecast processes.
- Demonstrated ability in solution selling, proposal development, and preparing RFP responses that align technical solutions to client business outcomes.
- Commercial negotiation skills with experience structuring contracts, SOWs, and commercial terms for IT projects.
- Comfortable working on-site across India with client-facing travel and cross-functional collaboration.
Preferred
- PMP or sales-related certification.
- Experience selling cloud migration, SaaS, or managed services solutions.
- Existing relationships within target verticals (BFSI, Retail, Healthcare) or enterprise accounts in India.
