About the role

About Us

Welcome to codecentric

We are an IT consulting company with a passion for individual software solutions that truly fit our customers. Together, we create innovative, sustainable, and holistic solutions with a tangible added value. Our focus areas are Retail, Insurance, Manufacturing, and Energy.

Our work environment is based on trust, appreciation, and mutual learning. Because good work arises where people can develop and grow.

Your Tasks

  • You take responsibility for planning, steering, and successfully implementing demanding projects with a focus on fixed prices with two to four interdisciplinary development teams – reliably, independently, and on an equal footing.
  • As a central interface between our customers and the development teams, you ensure that clear requirements, realistic frameworks, and viable decisions are in place – so that tailor-made solutions are created.
  • You select suitable agile and/or classic methods depending on the project situation and combine them effectively to enable flexibility and transparency despite the fixed-price structure.
  • You manage project initialization, precisely define procedures, scope, and assumptions, and ensure that teams can start generating value early on.
  • Scope, risk, and budget management are among your core tasks: You identify risks early, actively counteract them, make well-founded decisions, and consistently keep an eye on quality, time, and budget.
  • You identify all relevant stakeholders, understand their expectations, and communicate clearly, solution-oriented, and bindingly.
  • You regularly and transparently report on project progress – internally and to customers – and present results and recommendations for action clearly and convincingly.

Your Qualifications

  • You have completed a degree in computer science (business or technical) or a comparable qualification and have several years of experience in managing IT projects, ideally fixed-price projects with a clearly defined scope – preferably with several parallel or strategically networked teams.
  • You have sound knowledge of agile and classic project management methods and their application in a fixed-price context and are familiar with at least one of our focus industries: Insurance, Retail, or Manufacturing.
  • You have experience in using AI tools in the context of IT projects and can assess their added value reliably and pragmatically.
  • AI competence: You already use AI tools and technologies as a matter of course in your daily work – e.g., to make processes more efficient, structure complex problems, or share knowledge quickly. You see AI not as a replacement, but as a support to make your work even more effective.
  • You work independently, structured, and solution-oriented. Analytical thinking, organizational talent, and a strong sense of responsibility characterize you.
  • You communicate clearly and confidently in German and English, are convincing in presentations and moderation, and possess assertiveness, team orientation, and openness to new ways of working.
  • Ideally, you have project management certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, IPMA).

What We Offer You

  • Time for more than just projects: You can invest up to 20% of your working time in topics that are important to you – for example, further training, expanding our communities, internal initiatives, or developing your location.
  • Variety and responsibility: You work on diverse projects with modern technologies – self-organized, independently, and in cross-functional teams. You actively shape things rather than just implementing them.
  • Technology to your taste: You can have a say in your work equipment, Mac or Lenovo, iPhone or Samsung? Private use is also naturally possible.
  • An environment that keeps its promises. Trust, family-friendliness, genuine co-determination, and an open error culture are not buzzwords for us, but lived practice.
  • More than just flexibility: In addition to flexible working hours, you can expect 30 days of vacation, special leave, purchasable vacation days, time off on Christmas and New Year's Eve, and the possibility of a sabbatical.
  • We value diversity and welcome applications from people with diverse backgrounds, experiences, and life paths!
