The ZIB is the central IT service provider for the Lower Saxony justice system with around 18,000 IT workstations and 400 dedicated colleagues. Our Security Operations Center (SOC) ensures that courts, public prosecutor's offices, and correctional facilities can work securely - without having to worry about cyber threats. Responsibilities

• You identify, analyze, and process information security incidents - from initial recording through coordination of countermeasures to clean documentation.
• You continuously monitor the security status of the Lower Saxony justice IT and maintain an overview even in critical phases.
• You assess vulnerabilities in hardware and software and actively drive the implementation of mitigation measures.
• You don't just work with the SIEM - you actively shape it: Configuration, further development, and optimization of security monitoring systems are among your tasks.
• You develop measures for sustainable improvement of IT security together with operations and application teams.
• You evaluate security-relevant key figures and present them in a target-group-oriented manner - whether for techies or management.
• You also advise colleagues on information security topics and contribute to IT security projects.

Requirements

• Completed studies in computer science or a related field (Bachelor/FH-Diplom) or an IT training with relevant professional experience
• Good general knowledge of Linux and MS Windows Server, as well as MS Windows client operating systems
• Analytical thinking, structured work, and initiative
• Strong communication skills - you can clearly convey complex issues
• Strong team spirit and social skills
• German language skills at C1 level, English at B1
• Willingness for an extended security check according to § 7 para. 2 Nds. SÜG
• Career changers and new entrants with the right mindset are explicitly welcome
• Nice to have: Experience in information security, SOC, and SIEM
• Knowledge of common security frameworks or tools
• Participation/completion of relevant training courses (ITIL, ISM, BSI)
