IT Security Specialist

The Role:

As an IT Security Specialist, you are responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing advanced cybersecurity solutions within diverse client environments. You will work with enterprise-grade technologies such as Next-Generation Firewalls from Sophos, Palo Alto, Check Point, and Cisco, and set up security environments according to current best practices and Zero Trust principles.

You will configure and manage complex firewall environments, including VPN solutions (IPsec/SSL), network segmentation (VLANs), routing and switching, IPS/IDS, application control, and threat prevention. Additionally, you will implement endpoint and EDR/XDR solutions like Sophos Intercept X or ESET Protect and ensure a solid setup of identity and access management, including Multi-Factor Authentication.

Besides implementation projects, you will be actively involved in migrations, optimizations, and security upgrades at client locations. You will analyze notifications from the 24x7 monitoring system, perform root cause analyses, and act appropriately in case of security incidents. You will also serve as a technical point of contact and advise clients on improvements to their security architecture.

Requirements:

• Minimum of a completed MBO-4 education with HBO work and thinking level
• A completed IT education
• Knowledge of security, firewalls, and routers
• Good command of TCP/IP
• A customer-oriented attitude and strong communication skills
