Our client is seeking an IT Security Engineer with a strong technical background in Java development and security architecture.

This role is a cornerstone of the Group IT Hub South Africa, focusing on building, securing, and maintaining production-critical systems within a global cloud and web landscape.

Position Details: • Contract Period: 01-04-2026 to 31-12-2028 • Location: Midrand/Menlyn/Rosslyn/Home Office Rotation • Role Group: DevOps • Experience Required: 5–7 years IT experience + Proven Leadership.

The Mission: As a security-focused engineer, you will lead the implementation of authentication solutions and ensure the operational integrity of global IT architectures.

You will bridge the gap between "Software Development Excellence" and "Incident Management," treating security as a first-class citizen in the DevOps lifecycle.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities: • Understand the business requirements, preparing AS-IS, and TO-BE documents and get sign-off from users for functional and/or technical design document(s). • Preparation of system/technical documentation (as per ISO standards) • Proactively propose solutions to improve the support of (new) business processes. • Review and present proposed system solution to IT Project Manager / Leader and User Management or System owner (PDO) • Executing the required changes through configuration. • Develop system solutions in line with quality and delivery requirements. • Interact with consultants of other modules for Integration requirements. • Preparing test data and documentation, Conducting Unit tests, Regression tests, System Integration security tests including recording of results and change management (transport) activities. • Preparing User manuals and conductin
