About Us

As an IT Security Engineer (m/w/d), you are the driving force behind digital defense and shape the security architecture of tomorrow. You understand IT security not as a rigid set of rules, but as a dynamic process that you drive forward with passion. In this position, you combine technical knowledge with a proactive mindset to harden systems against modern threats and establish a scalable security landscape.

Responsibilities

• You are responsible for the setup, continuous development, and optimization of the entire IT security infrastructure.
• You take over the administration, maintenance, and monitoring of central firewall systems (especially Cisco and Fortinet) as well as VPN and SIEM solutions.
• You conceptualize and implement targeted measures for network and system hardening to minimize attack surfaces.
• You identify vulnerabilities and security risks early on and ensure their sustainable remediation.
• You ensure a future-proof and scalable security architecture and support the creation of technical feasibility concepts.
• You advise the team on the efficient implementation of functional requirements while adhering to the highest security standards.

Profile

• You have completed a degree or vocational training in IT, or as a career changer, you bring relevant, many years of professional experience.
• You have sound experience in IT security and are proficient in handling network protocols (e.g., IPv6).
• You have extensive practical experience in the operation, monitoring, and optimization of firewall systems (preferably Cisco and Fortinet).
• Assessing the risks of security incidents is one of your strengths, and you maintain an overview even in critical situations.
• You communicate confidently in German (at least C1 level) to precisely document and convey complex issues.
• You work in a structured manner, think agilely, and enjoy developing solutions together as a team.
