We are seeking an IT Security Engineer (m/f/d) who will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our internal IT infrastructure. Your Responsibilities • Responsibility for IT security within a complex, international system landscape. • Operation and further development of endpoint security as well as continuous hardening and monitoring of our client and server infrastructure. • Monitoring, analysis, and response to security events as well as independent handling of security incidents. • Conducting vulnerability analyses, deriving necessary measures, and ensuring consistent patch and update discipline. • Contributing to firewall, proxy, and network security policies; assessment and hardening of interfaces between the network and end devices. • Active participation within the IT team on administrative tasks and supporting colleagues with general technical issues in day-to-day business. • Holistic development and implementation of IT security policies according to common standards (e.g., ISO 27001, BSI IT-Grundschutz) and their operational transfer into daily business (e.g., NIS2). • Leading (sub-)projects in the area of IT security as well as providing advice and technical coaching within the team. Your profile • Educational background in an IT or related field. • Practical professional experience in IT security, or system administration with a strong security focus. • Solid knowledge of network security (firewalls, VPN, routing) and endpoint security, as well as experience in security operations (monitoring, incident handling, patch management). • Exceptional analytical skills and a structured approach to problem-solving. • Structured documentation skills and confident use of security tools and log analysis. • Good knowledge of frameworks such as ISO 27001 or BSI IT-Grundschutz; an interest in requirements such as NIS2 is a plus. • High flexibility to adapt to the dynamic nature of a startup environment, combined with a hands‑on mentality and the willingness to support the IT team in general tasks. • Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities, with a continuous commitment to expanding your knowledge and a readiness to take on new challenges. • Very good German and English skills (written and spoken).
