As a software company in a trust-sensitive industry, information security is of high importance to us. At the same time, we are in a phase of further professionalizing and scaling our internal IT and security structures. For this, we are looking for a hands-on IT & Security Engineer (m/f/d) who enjoys improving systems, building structures, and ensuring that security functions well in everyday operations.
This role is particularly suitable for individuals with a background in IT Operations or System Administration who have developed a strong interest in security and wish to further expand their practical experience in this area.
Responsibilities
- You will take responsibility for the further development of our internal IT and security foundations – by building structures, establishing standards, and ensuring that security measures function reliably in everyday operations.
- This role is highly hands-on: you will implement things, improve existing setups, and operate central systems in daily business. The focus is not on writing extensive strategy or policy documents, but on making security work in practice.
- You will work closely with our Engineering and Product teams, as well as management.
Your tasks in the first 6 months
You will start with our most important security fundamentals and work closely with Engineering and Management to quickly implement improvements.
Typical topic areas
- Endpoint and Device Security – Building a consistent and managed standard for all company devices
- Authentication and Access Control – Further development of identity and access management across our systems
- Resilience and Recoverability – Reviewing and improving the security and recoverability of central systems and backups
- Security Awareness – Conducting initial internal security sessions and building a continuous awareness approach
- Incident Readiness – Improving our incident response process and fundamental procedures for handling security incidents
Further tasks
- Further development and operation of device management, identity, and access control within the company
- Responsibility for the IT-related part of the onboarding and offboarding process
- Building and maintaining pragmatic IT and security standards, tailored to our company context
- Support in integrating fundamental security practices into development and product processes
- Building and fostering a positive and practical security culture – security as an enabler, not a blocker
- Maintaining lean and pragmatic security documentation and fundamental guidelines where appropriate
Your Profile
- Experience in IT Administration, IT Security, or Security Engineering
- Experience in a modern SaaS or technology environment
- Practical experience with workplace and security tools (e.g., Device Management, Identity Management, Endpoint Security)
- Structured and pragmatic approach to work
- Enjoyment of hands-on implementation and continuous improvement
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering and product teams
- Ability to pragmatically implement security best practices

Requirements
- Erfahrung im Bereich IT-Administration, IT Security oder Security Engineering
- Erfahrung in einem modernen SaaS- oder Technologieumfeld
- praktische Erfahrung mit Workplace- und Security-Tools (z.B. Device Management, Identity Management, Endpoint Security)

- Du übernimmst Verantwortung für die Weiterentwicklung unserer internen IT- und Security-Grundlagen – indem du Strukturen aufbaust, Standards etablierst und dafür sorgst, dass Sicherheitsmaßnahmen im Alltag zuverlässig funktionieren.
- Diese Rolle ist stark hands-on: Du setzt Dinge um, verbesserst bestehende Setups und betreibst zentrale Systeme im Alltag.
- Du arbeitest dabei eng mit unserem Engineering- und Product-Team sowie der Geschäftsführung zusammen.
- Du startest mit unseren wichtigsten Security-Grundlagen und arbeitest eng mit Engineering und Management zusammen, um schnell Verbesserungen umzusetzen.
- Weiterentwicklung und Betrieb von Device Management, Identity und Access Control im Unternehmen
- Verantwortung für den IT-seitigen Teil des Onboarding- und Offboarding-Prozesses
- Aufbau und Pflege pragmatischer IT- und Security-Standards, passend zu unserem Unternehmenskontext
- Unterstützung bei der Integration grundlegender Security-Praktiken in Entwicklungs- und Produktprozesse
- Aufbau und Förderung einer positiven und praxisnahen Security-Kultur – Security als Enabler, nicht als Blocker
- Pflege einer schlanken und pragmatischen Security-Dokumentation und grundlegender Richtlinien, wo sinnvoll
