Responsibilities

As an IT Security Engineer, you will be responsible for IT security in an international system landscape. Your responsibilities include:

• Operation and further development of endpoint security as well as hardening and monitoring of the client and server infrastructure
• Monitoring and analysis of security events and processing of security incidents
• Conducting vulnerability analyses and ensuring consistent patch management
• Contribution to firewall, proxy, and network security policies
• Development and implementation of IT security policies in accordance with ISO 27001, BSI IT-Grundschutz, and NIS2
• Support of the IT team with administrative tasks and general technical questions
• Leading sub-projects in the area of IT security and providing technical coaching within the team

Requirements

We are looking for a person with a completed degree or vocational training in the IT field, as well as practical experience in IT security or system administration with a security focus. In addition, you bring:

• Sound knowledge in network security, including firewalls, VPN, and routing
• Experience in Security Operations, Incident Handling, and Patch Management
• Good knowledge of ISO 27001 or BSI IT-Grundschutz
• Structured way of working and confident handling of security tools and log analysis
• Very good German and English skills, both written and spoken
• Knowledge of NIS2, experience in a startup environment, and certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH are advantageous.
