The HEIG-VD is advertising the position of Security Engineer – Officer or Representative for R&D in Security. In the Department of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), its IICT institute, and the Y-Security competence center, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the growth of the Security Group. Integrated into a team of professors and research staff, the group enjoys first-class visibility at Swiss and international levels. As a significant player in this field for over 20 years, it is involved in applied research projects in collaboration with leading industries and has contributed to the creation of several successful start-ups. Furthermore, it is strongly involved in the ecosystem through various initiatives, including: as a member of Trust Valley, in the Tech4Trust program for start-ups in digital trust and cybersecurity, and as an academic player in the Trust and Cybersecurity program.

Responsibilities

• Development, execution, and management of applied research and development (R&D) projects within the Security Group
• Management of research projects under the supervision of the Head of the Research Unit
• Participation in the administration and all other activities necessary for the functioning of the Research Unit

Qualifications

• University degree or an equivalent qualification
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in security in one or more areas: security architecture, software security, network security, cryptography, audits, intrusion detection, cloud security
• Experience in project management
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Sense of organization and detail, customer-oriented, and able to collaborate with external partners
• Independence, structured working method, and good analytical skills
• Proficiency in English, in addition to French; knowledge of German is an advantage
